
A confrontation between a woman and police officers in Mesa ended in the woman’s arrest late Saturday night, according to reports from local authorities. Mesa Police responded to a call concerning a burglary around 10 p.m. near Extension Road and Broadway Road, as reported by ABC15.
Upon arriving at the scene, they encountered 27-year-old Alaijia James outside an apartment. After confirming she did not reside there, the situation quickly escalated. Police say James clenched her car keys in her fist and began to assault an officer, inflicting multiple cuts to the face. According to FOX10 Phoenix, further injuries were sustained by other officers as two more arrived to assist.
Now facing multiple charges, including three counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, as per ABC15, Alaijia James is being held accountable for her actions that night. The assault with a dangerous instrument, in this case, her car keys, and criminal damage are among the serious accusations levied against her.
