Upon their arrival, they found an adult male victim in a state past saving, lying unconscious and showing no signs of life as a result of his wounds. 

The man has since been identified as Trent Davis, 37, a resident of Northwest, D.C. The MPD has yet to release further details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting or potential suspects in the case. However, they are actively seeking help from the community in apprehending those responsible.

The police department is asking anyone with information to wisely choose to come forward; urging them not to intervene directly but to instead contact the police by calling (202) 727-9099 or by texting a tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The MPD has announced a reward of up to $25,000, an incentive they hope might encourage someone to decidedly step forward with information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator or perpetrators.
