Washington D.C.'s Metropolitan Police Department is actively investigating a shooting that left one man dead in Southeast D.C. earlier this week. The shooting took place on the night of Wednesday, July 10, around 9:20 p.m. on the 100 block of Atlantic Street, Southeast, according to a press release from the MPD.
Officers who arrived on the scene located Devin Jenkins, a 28-year-old resident of Southeast D.C., in the hallway of an apartment building. Despite efforts, Jenkins died at the scene. The MPD's statement said the victim's body was found in an apartment building.
The police have yet to announce any suspects or motives behind the shooting. They are calling for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
