
The Metropolitan Police Department is currently seeking the public's assistance in locating a dog that was taken during a robbery in Southeast Washington, D.C. The theft occurred last night when the owner, attempting to sell the canine, was confronted by an armed individual who subsequently absconded with the pet.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the incident happened yesterday, around 9:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of Texas Avenue, Southeast. The would-be buyer brandished a handgun during price negotiations and then fled on foot, taking the dog with him. The authorities are now urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in the safe return of the dog to its rightful owner.
The MPD has not yet released descriptions of the suspect or the stolen dog. Community members are being asked to remain vigilant and to report any sightings or information that might help to quickly and safely recover the animal. The incident has raised concerns among local dog owners about their safety during such private transactions.
