The search is on for 55-year-old Stephen (Steve) Philip Foster, a convicted felon whom Michigan State Police have described as wanted on multiple felony warrants. These warrants include charges related to possession and distribution of child sexual abusive material, failure to register as a sex offender, illegal firearms possession, and operating a drug house. According to ClickOnDetroit, Foster was previously convicted of second-degree criminal sexual contact with a person under 13.
Foster's background is a troubling tapestry of repeated violations of the law. Failing to register as a sex offender after his conviction, he continues to intentionally evade the grasp of the justice system. Standing at 5 feet, 10 inches and weighing approximately 170 pounds, the suspect has brown hair and eyes and was last seen near Grand Rapids in Kentwood. The Michigan State Police have expressed concerns that he may have already left the state to further avoid capture.
Law enforcement is actively pursuing all leads and has reached out to the community for assistance. The Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force are among those leading the search. A post shared by MSP Sixth District on their X page details his last known physical traits and possible locations.
