Despite his efforts to disguise his identity, the man was inevitably caught, and his situation quickly escalated when officers discovered that he was not just involved in the theft. Attempting to run, with the weight of a felony warrant worth $100,000 hanging around his neck, he was detained not only for the shoplifting charge. He had also violated the terms of his Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS). The mall, frequented by families and bargain hunters, became the backdrop for this suspect's downfall.
The suspect was jailed on multiple charges, detailing the offenses that led to his arrest. "He was arrested and booked into jail for theft, resisting arrest, providing false identification to a police officer, and his warrant", was the official statement from the Milpitas Police Department. The implications of his actions are yet to unravel as the legal process takes its course.
