Planning your commute next week in Montgomery County could save you some time. PennDOT has alerted the public of upcoming High Friction Surface Treatment (HFST) operations on two significant roads.
Specifically, from Monday, July 22, to Friday, July 26, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, drivers should anticipate lane closures. On Pennsylvania Avenue, the stretch from Chelsea Avenue to Camp Hill Road will be affected, impacting Springfield, Upper Dublin, and Abington townships. Similarly, Barren Hill Road will see restrictions from Ridge Pike to Hector Street in Whitemarsh Township.
Congestion is expected, PennDOT warns. For those who forged ahead without heed to advisory, they could be met with more than just slow-moving traffic. For now, Pennsylvanians must navigate roads and the roadworks that come with progress.
