
A tragic collision in Orange County claimed the life of a motorcyclist on Saturday evening. The Florida Highway Patrol detailed that the incident occurred at approximately 7:05 p.m. at the juncture of North Hiawassee Road and Burroughs Drive, as reported by ClickOrlando. A Toyota Highlander, navigating westbound on Burroughs Drive, clashed with a northbound motorcycle amid a left turn maneuver by the SUV.
The man aboard the motorcycle, a 40-year-old from Orlando, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Conversely, the 42-year-old female driver of the SUV escaped the crash uninjured. Local authorities have yet to disclose the identification of the deceased motorcyclist pending next of kin notification. The investigation into the specific circumstances of the crash is ongoing, with roadblocks previously in place during the preliminary inquiry, according to WESH.
The preliminary crash report by the Florida Highway Patrol indicated that the motorcycle, identified as a KTM, was traveling in the outside lane when the Toyota Highlander executed the fatal left turn.
