
A coordinated sweep across East Hawai'i has culminated in the arrest of several individuals wanted on various charges, as reported by the Hawai’i Police Department. In collaboration with the United States Marshals Service Hawai’i Task Force and the Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement (DOCARE), police officers from the Area I Crime Reduction Unit along with South Hilo and Puna patrol divisions actively participated in this joint operation.
The crackdown has resulted in the detention of multiple suspects, ranging in age from 21 to 54, all charged with a variety of criminal offenses. Among those apprehended was 42-year-old Chanel Pikakeohanani Mariani from Mountain View, charged with violations related to her conditions of release, her bail being set firmly at $2,000. In a similar vein, 31-year-old Kolby Kaleolani Kekeni Rosario also of Pahala faces charges including third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug and violations of conditions of release, with a bail tagged at $7,000.
As detailed in a Hawai’i Police Department press release, the collective effort to apprehend these individuals forms part of a broader commitment to maintaining Hawai’i Island as a safe community. Prominent cases involve 40-year-old Jarrett Kupiilani McAtee Jr. from Pahoa, with a bail of $5,000 for probation-related charges, and 39-year-old Jeffrey Robert K. Pea of Hilo, who is currently held without bail pending extradition to Colorado for serious sexual assault and burglary charges.
Further reflecting the extensive nature of this law enforcement push, 35-year-old Giles Anakone Mainaaupo, from Kurtistown, was taken into custody under a hefty $25,000 bail for probation violation allegations. Among the younger offenders, 21-year-old Nathanuel Angel Chow-Guzman of Keaau finds himself charged with third-degree drug promotion and driving without a license, his bail is set to $3,000. Officials have shared that the purpose of these actions is to continuously enhance the quality of police services and ensure the island’s safety for residents and visitors alike.
