A series of tire thefts hit Petaluma on Sunday, leaving many residents without their tires and rims. The Petaluma Police Department (PPD) received numerous calls from vehicle owners, particularly from the city's east side. At least ten people have been affected, prompting an investigation into these thefts.
The suspects remain unidentified, but the PPD is actively gathering evidence and urging additional victims or witnesses to come forward. The PPD urges residents to report suspicious individuals or activities at night. When reporting, include descriptions and directions of travel. For suspicious vehicles, provide a description and direction of travel. Those parking on the street should park close to home in well-lit areas and consider installing motion sensor lights or cameras.
The investigation is ongoing, and no suspects or arrests have been disclosed. Lt. Zilverio Rivera of the PPD handles media inquiries and can be reached at 707-781-1277. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the PPD at 707-778-4373 to help restore security in Petaluma.
