Irvine's Northwood neighborhood is ready to welcome Hala Coffee, a new coffee shop setting up shop on the grounds of the Islamic Center of Irvine, located at 2 Truman St., according to What Now Orange County. Serving up traditional Yemeni coffee and tea with a twist of modern brewing techniques, the shop looks to become a staple in the local community.
Residents eager to sip on Yemeni milk coffee or indulge in Adeni chai won't have to wait long. With hours that stretch from early morning at 6:00 am to the late evenings on weekdays, and extending to midnight on Friday and Saturday, Hala Coffee caters to caffeine enthusiasts and night owls alike, as per What Now Orange County. The shop will shut its doors later on Sundays, opening from 1:00 pm until the 10:00 pm closing time—as listed on their website.
The executive director of the Islamic Center of Irvine, Amin Rafiq, when approached for a comment, chose to keep the cards close to his chest about the new venture. In a move that suggests a careful unveiling of their plans, Rafiq said they may provide more details in the future, as reported by What Now Orange County.
