The Ocoee Police Department disclosed the identity of a drowning victim from a recent incident at Starke Lake. In a somber update provided early Thursday, authorities confirmed that 31-year-old Terry DeWayne Werst was the man whose life met an aquatic end, according to a report from WFTV.
On July 17, a report of a man struggling in the water prompted a search which initially yielded no results, and the man was not found at that time, then on July 19 a grim discovery was made when an individual reported finding a body along the shore of the same lake, police were called to the scene to a man lying lifeless at the edge of the water, a sight that contrasts sharply against the common placidity of Starke Lake. The Ocoee Police, after conducting their due diligence, announced via X that "The next of kin has been notified. There are no signs of foul play."
