CBS Austin reported that the Austin-Travis County EMS and Austin Fire Department responded to the scene near 5700 N IH 35 Southbound shortly before 10 p.m. This location lies between US-290 and Airport Boulevard, where they found the victim who had been struck by a vehicle.
A joint statement from the authorities said, "The adult victim was pronounced dead on scene." While emergency crews worked the scene and launched an investigation into the tragic incident, officials urged motorists to avoid the area.
