A fatal stabbing in Versailles has led to one dead and several injuries including a law enforcement officer and a K-9 unit. The incident took place Thursday night on the 400 block of Worthington Street as reported by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Authorities arrived to find Vincent Bazzone, 38, dead from multiple stab wounds.

Adjacent to the scene, first responders discovered another stabbing victim and an assaulted woman, both of whom were transported to the hospital in stable condition. Police have identified the suspect in these attacks as Robert Kail, 40, of McMurray, according to WTAE. After fleeing the scene, Kail's vehicle was located by McKeesport Police, who took him into custody.

Whilst at the McKeesport Police Station, an altercation occurred where Kail allegedly fought with police, resulting in injuries to one officer and a K-9. "The officer was taken to a hospital for treatment and the K9 was taken to a veterinarian," stated authorities in a comment retrieved by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Kail, too, was treated for injuries post-arrest.

As of yet, Kail has not been arraigned on the charges he's facing. These charges include criminal homicide. The investigation continues as Allegheny County homicide detectives piece together the events of Thursday's violence. More updates are anticipated as details emerge in this developing story.
