
Two men fell victim to gunfire in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood early Wednesday, with one succumbing to his injuries and another wounded. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the attack unfolded around 1:05 a.m. on the 6300 block of South Carpenter Street, where the men, aged 22 and 21, stood when shooters unleashed a barrage of bullets from a nearby alley.
The older man was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead while the younger, his body pierced by a bullet in the right forearm, lives with the wound of this assault. He is now reported in good condition at the same hospital, the authorities informed both Chicago Sun-Times and ABC7 Chicago.
The identity of the deceased individual remains withheld pending family notification.
