Orange County's nuts-and-bolts approach to infrastructure maintenance is set to roll out on South Dean Road, with a repaving project scheduled to start July 22. Local drivers should brace for roadwork between Curry Ford Road and Lake Underhill Road, to smooth out their daily commute, according to Orange County Public Works.
Working hours for this project have been pegged at Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., during these hours crews will be employing cold in-place base recycling, a process that takes the old asphalt, grinds it up, throws in some additives, and repaves right then and there. While this is happening, don't be surprised if you find yourself in the middle of intermittent lane closures but, rest assured, the crew promises to keep traffic moving both ways.
Weather and unforeseen circumstances notwithstanding, the whole ordeal should wrap up by August's end, it's a tight timeline but given the straightforward nature of the work, Orange County Public Works seems confident in their scheduling.
