A quiet Orange County neighborhood was awakened early Sunday by the echoes of gunfire, leading to a grim discovery. Deputies responding to a 911 call found two people with gunshot wounds inside a home in the 9100 block of Waverly Walk Drive, as reported by ClickOrlando.
A woman, in her 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene and a man of a similar age was rushed to the hospital with injuries described as life-threatening. The shooting, which occurred shortly after midnight, is under investigation by the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
While the man's injuries appear to be self-inflicted the sheriff’s office has not shared details on the circumstances leading to the shooting and they have marked the incident as a domestic affair, noting that there is no threat to the general public at this point, according to WESH.
