This Sunday, July 21, the sweet tooth of Orlando will be appeased with an array of ice cream deals as establishments across the area celebrate National Ice Cream Day. According to ClickOrlando, former President Ronald Reagan initiated the holiday in 1984 and since then, it's become a day for ice cream lovers to relish discounts and free offerings. This year's hot spots include Dairy Queen, handing out free Dilly Bars with any purchase, and Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream, halving prices on scoops for the afternoon.

Starting the celebrations, West Orange Creamery & Soda Fountain has concocted a new event dubbed "Stuff Your Stanley," where patrons arriving with a large-mouthed cup on Friday can cram in four scoops of ice cream for ten bucks—a separate tastiness from National Ice Cream Day itself, which falls on Sunday. The usual suspects are in on the deals too; Friendly’s is rolling out 89-cent cones all week, while Dippin’ Dots will spoon out free mini cups for a couple of hours on the holiday. Not to be overlooked, The Greenery Creamery is joining in by offering BOGO scoops and a deal on their Ice Cream Flight treat.

August will bring even more frozen delights to Orlando, as FOX 35 Orlando reports that Topgolf is taking its ice cream truck tour across the U.S., with a stop in the Orlando area. Scheduled on Aug. 10 from 4 to 6 p.m., at Topgolf's Orlando and Lake Mary spots, the truck will serve free ice cream alongside the chance to snag some Topgolf branded swag.

Amid a summer that seems hotter than ever, free ice cream is a cool offer no one wants to pass up. Arriving with the truck, also expect to find giveaways from crew members, as they’ll be distributing Topgolf swag and other goodies. For those missing the truck on its Orlando pit stop, additional Florida cities like Tampa, St. Pete, and Jacksonville can look forward to their chance at free ice cream as the truck makes its rounds throughout August.
