Oviedo drivers take note. Starting Thursday, there will be a couple of lane closures to consider during your commutes. The City of Oviedo has announced that Mitchell Hammock Road will see partial closures for the installation of temporary traffic light span wires. This work is scheduled to occur on July 18th and July 19th, which could mean potential delays for those traveling in that area, according to the City of Oviedo press release.
Specifically, closures will affect the outside westbound travel lane between Eastbridge Drive and Alafaya Woods Blvd., and the outside eastbound travel lane between Lake Rogers Circle and Alafaya Woods Blvd. These lanes will not be open to vehicular traffic. Those planning to drive through these parts of town should expect some disruptions and are advised to allow extra travel time or seek alternative routes.
The city has assured the public that proper maintenance of traffic will be in place to reroute vehicles safely around the construction zone. Nonetheless, they are urging drivers to proceed with extra caution while navigating near the work areas. "Please drive with caution if traveling in this area," the City of Oviedo's alert advises.
