The department is encouraging residents to support the drive by purchasing supplies at the local Walmart and then dropping them off right in the store's front area, where officers will be on hand to collect the donations. The initiative, particularly timing as families start to plan for the upcoming school year, will provide essential supplies to children who might otherwise go without.
