Following a series of joint operations between the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office (OCSO) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), a Park Township man is now incarcerated, facing serious allegations of child pornography possession and distribution. The suspect, 64-year-old David Frederick Schackow, was apprehended on Monday after a raid on his home uncovered a staggering quantity of illicit imagery. According to Ottawa County officials, "We’re told HSI found hundreds of thousands of sexually explicit images and videos of children at Schackow’s home."
The initial tip-off about Schackow's activities emerged in October of the preceding year, a detail shared by numerous local news outlets. As verified by FOX17, Homeland Security began the investigation which culminated in recent charges. OCSO expressed its appreciation for the partnership with HSI.
Upon arraignment, Schackow faced two counts of child porn possession and two counts of child porn distribution. As detailed by WOOD, the court set his bond at $50,000.
