Last night, Pittsburgh's Bloomfield neighborhood became the site of a vehicle and pedestrian collision around midnight. According to an official dispatch from the City of Pittsburgh Public Safety Blotter, police, fire, and EMS crews were called to the scene at the intersection of 44th and Penn Ave after a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.
The victim, an adult male, was transported to the hospital in what was described as a critical, yet stable condition. Remaining at the scene, the driver of the vehicle cooperated with officers fully, which, under these circumstances, is not always the case in such incidents.
