The Central Detective Division is currently enlisting help from the public to identify a suspect or suspects involved in two burglaries at the School of Rock located at 421 North 7th Street, as seen in recently released video footage, as reported by the Philadelphia Police Department. The music education school became the target of theft on consecutive days, June 26 and 27, with several guitars and electronic items reported stolen. It has not been determined if the incidents involve the same individual.
Details delivered by the police offer descriptions of the suspect or suspects involved. In the June 26 incident, authorities described the suspect as a Black male, with a thin build, dressed in all dark clothing. The following day's suspect, possibly the same individual, also a Black male with a thin build, was seen wearing a distinct blue and white hat marked "Viamericas" and a matching baseball style jersey emblazoned with "New York" and the number 2, as per the Philadelphia Police Department. Despite similarities, in build and timing the police have not confirmed the connection between the two events.
The Central Detective Division has not only released video evidence in the hopes of apprehending the suspect or suspects but also to encourage witnesses or anyone with knowledge pertinent to the burglaries to reach out. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation continues.
