
A recent bout of road rage in Pittsburgh escalated into violence, leaving one man wounded downtown. The incident occurred on Smithfield Street on the afternoon of July 16, when emergency responders were called to the scene just before 4:15 p.m., according to a public statement by the Pittsburgh Public Safety Department.
With two gunshot wounds in his arm, the victim was found near his vehicle and medics quickly transported him to a local hospital where he reportedly remained in stable condition. The tumult, originally brewing on the South Side, found its heated conclusion amongst the everyday thrum of downtown life.
The Pittsburgh Police are actively investigating the case, highlighting a silver Dodge Charger as a vehicle of interest. As detectives from the Violent Crime Unit seek to unearth the sequence of emotions and events that led to this disruption of peace, the perpetrator remains at large.
