
Pittsburgh Police were dispatched to the scene of a shooting on Friday night, after receiving reports around 10:40 p.m. of gunfire in the 300 block of N. Fairmount Street in Garfield. According to the City of Pittsburgh public safety blotter, officers found shell casings upon arrival and were informed by a woman that her adult son had been shot while inside his vehicle. The son managed to quickly seek medical attention at the nearest hospital.
The victim, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, was located by police at the hospital and reported to be in stable condition, having sustained gunshot wounds to the back. Police have yet to publicly identify any suspects and are actively continuing to thoroughly investigate the circumstances leading up to the incident. The victim's vehicle was towed to the Auto Squad garage for further processing as part of the ongoing investigation.
