Small business owners and entrepreneurs in Plainview are gearing up for a major event as Governor Greg Abbott has announced the 2024 Governor’s Small Business Summit will be held in their city on August 8. The Summit is part of a series of events rolling out across Texas throughout the year, and, its purpose is to bolster small businesses by connecting them to vital resources and information that could help them prosper.

"Everything is bigger in Texas, and that includes our small businesses," Abbott said in an announcement. With over 3 million small businesses making up a significant portion, of the state's employment sector, the summits are seen as critical in maintaining the robust growth that has characterized the Texas economy. According to the press release, this is an opportunity for business owners and prospective entrepreneurs alike to learn, network, and find the support they need to flourish.

The event, which will take place at Plainview Municipal Country Club and Civic Center, includes a variety of panel topics that are relevant to today's shifting business landscape. Subjects such as marketing, social media, access to finance and funding, leveraging technology, and managing workforce challenges will be addressed. Networking and direct access to experts will be key features of the gathering, providing attendees with a chance to establish valuable contacts and seek tailored advice.
