The ongoing "Battle of the Badges" campaign, which pits local law enforcement against firefighters in a friendly competition to see who can donate the most blood, is making its latest stop in Plano today. This community event, designed to bolster the much-needed blood supplies in local hospitals, has listed several donation sites open for the public to contribute their part. Among them, the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital at 6200 West Park Road is welcoming donors from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, according to the Plano Texas Police Department.
Also participating in today's blood drive, BSW Heart Hospital Plano, located at 1100 Allied Drive, is open for donations until 2:30 pm. Close by, Baylor Scott & White Plano at 4700 Alliance Blvd is inviting potential donors from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Meanwhile, the Children’s Medical Center Plano at 7601 Preston Road has opened its doors early and will be accepting donations from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Residents are encouraged to take a moment from their day to help save lives with a simple act of donation.
As an added layer to the blood donation drive, members of the community are encouraged to "VOTE BLUE" in support of the Plano Police Department, a rallying call to back the force in the friendly "Battle of the Badges" competition. The campaign, which highlights the community's civic engagement and the fraternity between the local emergency services, aims not only to collect blood for a worthy cause but also to strengthen the bonds between citizens and the services designated for their protection and aid.
