
Howard County police are currently piecing together the sequence of events from a non-fatal shooting incident that took place on the evening of July 25 in Columbia. According to a statement from the Howard County Police Department, officers were called to the 9600 block of Whiteacre Road right around 10:25 p.m. following reports of gunfire in the area.
A young man, just 18, was found suffering from a gunshot wound when police arrived. Despite the violent circumstances surrounding his injury, the gunshot wound was not determined to be life-threatening. Police said the victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was quickly taken to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. After receiving care, he was released.
