A somber investigation unfolds in the River District as Sacramento Police Department detectives probe the death of a woman found unresponsive near the homeless services nonprofit Loaves & Fishes. The chilling discovery was made earlier morning following a report of a disturbance. As detailed by KCRA, the police were called around 6 a.m. and were met with the grim scene upon their arrival on North C Street on North 12th Street. The woman was declared dead at the location, spurring a homicide investigation.
North 12th Street, a crucial conduit for traffic heading into downtown Sacramento was consequently sealed off between Sproule Avenue and North B Street, as KCRA 3's Mike TeSelle emphasized the necessity for drivers to seek alternative routes, particularly avoiding Highway 160 due to the ongoing investigation. The Sacramento Bee reported that the dispatch call placed at about 6:10 a.m. led officers to the 1300 block of North C Street.
