During a typical day along Highway 49 in Mokelumne Hill, a traffic stop conducted by Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office unraveled more than mere traffic violations. On July 24th, just in the heat of the afternoon, two individuals found themselves in custody, their vehicle turned into an evidentiary exhibit of illegal endeavors.
The occupants of the vehicle, Ricky Cavaco II, 39, from San Andreas, and Airelle Rudolph, 33, were initially detained for the stop. The unfolding scene allowed deputies to leverage Cavaco's searchable probation status and Rudolph's conditional release from an out-of-county court to conduct a thorough search. According to the official report on Nixle, the search revealed not only methamphetamine but also such illicit items as metal knuckles, firearm parts, and ammunition - possessions unequivocally prohibited for both parties at hand.
Subsequent to the discoveries, arrests were swiftly made. Cavaco faced a multitude of charges, including possession of a controlled substance and violation of probation. Rudolph, on her end, was booked on paraphernalia possession and breach of court release terms.
