A violent altercation in a Northeast Side apartment complex resulted in a man being shot in the stomach by his girlfriend's mother, San Antonio police reported. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. yesterday in the 8800 block of Starcrest Drive. According to KENS 5, the mother, who is believed to be in her 50s, was with another male when visiting her daughter's apartment where the victim and his girlfriend reside.

At some point, believing to be associated with the girlfriend, the other man and the victim got into a fight. "An altercation broke out after another man believed to be associated with the victim’s girlfriend came to the apartment," Sgt. Bobby Bradley explained to KENS 5. During the skirmish, the girlfriend's mother fired a gunshot, hitting the victim in the abdomen before fleeing from the scene with the other male in a truck.

The injured man was subsequently taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAAMC) for medical treatment; however, his condition remains undisclosed. San Antonio police have yet to locate or identify the suspect and her companion, both of whom left the scene before officers arrived.

If the woman is eventually apprehended, she may face an aggravated assault charge, police indicated. KSAT has noted that the investigation remains ongoing, with authorities actively seeking the two individuals believed to have fled the scene in a truck incompetently driven by the assailant's companion or herself. San Antonio Police Department is urging anyone with information on this case to come forward.
