Authorities are currently investigating after a body was discovered at Woodward Park on the northeast side of San Antonio. As per KENS 5, the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) responded to a call at the 1000 block of Locke Street around 6:30 p.m. last Friday. Parkgoers had encountered what appeared to be human remains near the baseball field's southeast corner in Woodard Park.
Upon their arrival, officers were able swiftly to locate the male body, which showed signs of significant decomposition. The circumstances leading up to this individual’s death remain unclear. The San Antonio Express-News reported that the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has been summoned to conduct a thorough investigation to ascertain the cause and manner of death.
While the deceased has not yet been positively identified, the discovery has raised numerous questions and concerns among the community frequenting the park. Officials are proceeding with caution to piece together the events that culminated tragically in Woodard Park.
