San Antonio families are preparing for the back-to-school season and local organizations are stepping up to ease the burden of school supplies expenses. One example is the Southeast Baptist Church, which will host its Back To School Bash providing free supplies to children present at the event. Scheduled for July 20 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 2414 South WW. White Road, the church gears up to entertain and assist with a carnival-themed setup and cooperation from over 30 vendors, according to KENS 5.
It's not just churches giving back. Gunn Chevrolet is also distributing free backpacks and school supplies across various dates in July and August. With the first giveaway event on July 17, the automotive dealer extends generosity to local communities, investing in children's educational needs. While shopping for a new car at Gunn Chevrolet, families can equip their school-aged children with essential learning tools at Interstate 35 N in Selma, as reported by San Antonio Express-News.
As the summer rolls to a close, the number of organizations providing free school supplies expands. San Antonio College, for instance, partners with A Fresh Foundation to offer not just supplies and backpacks, but also haircuts and pedicures, as well as food and giveaways on July 27. They're among many partners across the city working together to support students gearing for the new academic year.
