
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has announced the appointment of Lori Massey Brissette to the Fourth Court of Appeals, occupying Place 3. Brissette, who hails from San Antonio, will serve until the current term concludes on December 31, or until her successor is elected and assumes the role, as reported by the Office of the Texas Governor.
Before her new role, Brissette has been mediating a variety of cases through her firm, LMB Resolution, PLLC, and has a notable background as a jurist for the 288th District Court in Bexar County, as per the Office of the Texas Governor. Her extensive legal experience is complemented by her senior leadership roles in companies like Northwestern Mutual and USAA, and she once practiced as a partner at Ford & Massey, PC. Brissette's academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from The University of Texas at Austin and a Juris Doctor degree from South Texas College of Law.
The governor's office highlighted Brissette's deep involvement in the legal community through her membership in organizations such as the State Bar of Texas, San Antonio Bar Association, and Williams S. Sessions American Inn of Court. Her civic engagement is reflected in her association with initiatives like Impact San Antonio and her role as a board member for the National Alliance on Mental Illness - Greater San Antonio.
Brissette's achievements are further evident in her contributions to the San Antonio Women's Chamber of Commerce, where she served as former chair and board member, as detailed by the Office of the Texas Governor. Additionally, she has supported the National Association of Women Business Owners - San Antonio Chapter, the San Antonio Bar Foundation, and the SBOT Litigation Section, among others. She is noted for her advisement efforts in the San Antonio PowerWomen network and her previous board membership with Arms of Hope.
