KSAT reports that the incident occurred on June 18, at approximately 2 p.m., in the 1500 block of Delgado Street.
The victim, identified as 37-year-old Luz Aurora Gonzalez, was found by officers lying in the front yard of the home, having suffered a gunshot wound to the back of her head, Fox San Antonio details about the horrendous scene; she was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. The boy tried to escape following the gruesome act but was apprehended by authorities without further trouble and faces serious charges for what investigators describe as an execution using a shotgun.
A heartrending element of this tragic narrative is the testimony of the victim's daughter, who was at the home during the time of the shooting. She told KSAT that an argument between her brother and mother preceded the shooting, though the subject of the dispute remains unclear, as does the reason her brother would resort to such violent measures.
The juvenile suspect remains detained awaiting the next court hearing set for later in July.
