Don Misenhimer Splash Pad, the popular water play area, known for offering respite during sun-drenched days, has encountered a delay in its scheduled maintenance. Due to unforeseen setbacks linked to recent weather conditions, the contractor responsible for resurfacing the splash pad has pushed back the completion date. Originally intended to reopen in time for another weekend of aquatic fun, the facility is now expected to remain closed until Monday, July 29th.
The announcement, which was posted via an official Facebook update by Arlington Parks and Recreation, shared the reasoning behind the delay: "To create a safer and less slippery surface when wet, Don Misenhimer Splash Pad is currently closed for resurfacing." This measure is a clear effort to ensure the safety and enjoyment of its patrons upon their return.
In the meantime, residents and visitors looking for a break from the heat have alternatives to consider. The city is directing splash enthusiasts to nearby facilities that are operational and free to the public. These include Brantley Hinshaw Park, located at 2121 Overbrook Dr, 76014, and California Lane Park at 1931 California Ln, 76015, both of which promise to provide the same level of refreshment and fun that citizens have come to expect from Don Misenhimer Splash Pad.
