Etta, a restaurant nestled in the Scottsdale Quarter shopping center, is set to close doors on July 22 for a series of renovations. According to ABC15, the establishment, which opened its Scottsdale location in 2022, has been recently acquired by Austin-based RDM Hospitality.
The takeover comes on the heels of Etta's parent company, the Chicago-based Etta Collective, filing for bankruptcy earlier this year. RDM Hospitality, led by entrepreneur Johann Moonesinghe, plans to relaunch the restaurant in September, maintaining the Etta name. The acquisition from the bankruptcy proceedings reportedly cost RDM $4 million.
RDM's blueprint for Etta includes a sweep of refinements—updating the design and aesthetics, which includes an artist's rendering shown in the previous reports, transitioning leadership, menu revamp, and implementing strategic partnerships. The changes are intended to create a renewed ambiance and dining experience for guests.
Specific modifications, as detailed by Mouth by Southwest, involve installing additional televisions in the main bar area, enhancing the sound system to accommodate live DJs each night, and introducing a new private dining room. These alterations aim to position Etta as a more vibrant and modern culinary destination in the vibrant Scottsdale dining scene.
Local patrons and visitors can anticipate Etta's grand reopening after the revamp, with promises of a renewed experience that riffs on its wood-fired culinary roots. RDM Hospitality's acquisition and subsequent refresh of this Scottsdale eatery underscore a commitment to evolving the local gastronomic landscape while preserving the essence that initially drew customers to Etage.
