After locating the individual approximately 45 minutes later, he was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead soon after arrival.
As reported by NBC Boston, while aiding in the search, it was Massachusetts Environmental Police who were already present at Long Pond when the man was reported missing initially. The caller who reported the man missing has not been identified, and the circumstances of his disappearance remain unclear at this time.
The Plymouth County District Attorney's Office has since taken up the investigation into the incident, with state police detectives assigned to the case as is standard for unattended deaths in the area.
