A man's altercation with a would-be car prowler has taken a fatal turn in North Seattle, resulting in a delayed death investigation by Seattle Police Homicide Detectives. The incident, which began on June 24, escalated to a physical confrontation and ended in the serious injury of the suspect.
According to the Seattle Police Department Blotter, officers were initially called to a car prowl report in a parking garage located on the 6900 block of East Greenlake Way North. The suspect, later found unconscious by the officers, had allegedly been armed with a knife. Officers rendered emergency medical aid, soon after, the Seattle Fire Department arrived and took over, ultimately transporting the man to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition, the owner of the vehicle, had interrupted the car prowl and was engaged in a confrontation with the male before he fell unconscious.
After the incident, the vehicle owner stayed on scene, cooperating with the police. Despite the grave outcome, there have been no arrests related to this case up to this point. As of June 28, the 35-year-old suspect involved has been pronounced dead. Details surrounding the cause of the altercation and the suspect's subsequent death are currently under tight examination by investigators.
Homicide detectives, who have now taken charge of the case, are piecing together the sequence of events that led up to the man's death. As their investigation continues, more information is expected to be revealed.
