
The Baltimore Police Department has confirmed a shooting incident that left a teenager wounded. It began when ShotSpotter technology detected gunfire, leading police to the 1100 block of North Lakewood Avenue at about 12:23 a.m. this morning, with officers swiftly moving to respond to the alert according to the police press release.
Following up on the initial alert, they then received a distress call reporting a victim on the 1100 block of North Luzerne Avenue. Found by officers, a 14-year-old boy was discovered in the grips of a gunshot consequence. Even though he was found on Luzerne, it appears the actual shooting occurred on North Lakewood Avenue, where the ShotSpotter initially led authorities.
The Southeast District Shooting detectives have now taken the helm of the investigation, working to piece together the events that led to the teenager's injury.
