The streets of St. Petersburg became the backdrop of a harrowing crime, as a grand jury recently delivered an indictment against Jerome Isom for the first-degree murder of Yvonne Abernathy. According to the St. Petersburg Police Department's report, the tragic incident took place at the Reserve at Lake Pointe apartments early in the morning on June 18th.
Isom, known to have been Abernathy's estranged boyfriend, is said to have abruptly ended the young woman's life. Both had previously been entangled in a web of domestic violence, with Abernathy ultimately becoming the latest victim in what appears to be a relentless cycle. Presently, Isom is incarcerated in South Florida, facing separate charges from the Florida Highway Patrol and Miami Beach Police Department. The authorities intend to quickly extradite him back to Pinellas County to properly face his murder charge.

Her life, still lush with potential and embarking into day barely after 6 a.m., was cut short by gunfire, authorities have disclosed.
