Texans found themselves unable to access Driver's License Offices today as a sweeping technical outage prompted a statewide shutdown of the services. The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) announced early in the day that all driver's license offices were experiencing technologically triggered interruptions. An official Facebook post from DPS confirmed that customers with appointments had been or would be directly informed of the closures.
DPS admitted that there is currently no clear timeline for when their services will resume normal function. "Our IT teams are working diligently to fix the issue," stated DPS in a statement obtained by FOX San Antonio.
The Department urged those affected to keep a vigilant watch over official communication channels for updates. "DPS is asking people to monitor its social media pages and website for updates on the situation," as reported by KSAT.
