Galveston's recovery operations took a violent turn early Monday when lineman Trevor Tedore was arrested for allegedly assaulting another lineman. According to FOX 26 Houston, the 24-year-old Sugar Land resident was charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury. Galveston PD officers discovered the victim on the 3100 block of Seawall Blvd, suffering from multiple injuries.
The altercation seemingly left an lineman fighting for his life after being found with severe injuries to his head and face. Police were called to the scene around 1:15 a.m. Monday. They responded to reports of a man lying injured on the sidewalk. After being transported to the hospital, the victim was listed in critical condition. Tedore was later identified as a suspect in the assault, as reported by KHOU.
Both Tedore and the victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, were in Galveston to contribute to the power line repairs following Hurricane Beryl. They were staying at a hotel near the incident's location. Details surrounding the motive and circumstances of the assault have not been made public.
After the investigation pointed to Tedore as the responsible party, he was taken into custody in League City on Tuesday morning. The Galveston County District Attorney's Office set his bond at $200,000. Tedore is now being held at the Galveston County Jail, pending further legal proceedings.
