Authorities reported the arrest of a suspected drug dealer, also wanted for a robbery case, at the 2200 block of Spears Road. According to a Facebook post by Constable Mark Herman's Office, deputies responded to a call concerning a woman attempting to use a credit card that did not belong to her on Friday. Upon arrival, they apprehended the suspect, identified as Mauri Anderson.
Mauri Anderson, who had an open Felony Warrant for Robbery, was found in possession of drugs and a significant sum of money. Deputies discovered Marijuana, Xanax, unknown pills, $1,267.00 in cash, and paraphernalia commonly associated with narcotics distribution. The circumstances of her arrest, including the details of her alleged drug possession and the ongoing investigation, have sparked discussions about the intersecting issues of drug crimes and financial fraud.
"Mauri Anderson was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for the open warrant and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance and Credit Card Abuse. Her bond was set at $1,000.00 out of the 263rd District Court," Constable Mark Herman declared.
