A brazen daylight robbery at a Brooklyn Park shopping district has come to a swift resolution thanks in part to coordinated police work and modern surveillance. Law enforcement officials reported to, Tip411, that on the afternoon of July 24, at approximately 5:39 pm, officers from the Brooklyn Park Police Department responded to a robbery at the Dollar Tree store located at 8030 Brooklyn Boulevard.
The immediate response included setting up a tight perimeter around the crime scene, while a K9 unit embarked on a tracking operation to hunt down the suspect, aided by the Brooklyn Park Police Department's drone team. However, the break came when an officer stationed on the perimeter observed an individual, whose appearance was consistent with that of the robbery suspect, boarding a bus at the nearby Starlite bus station and subsequently detained him. Subsequent video evidence from Dollar Tree confirmed the person’s identity as the alleged perpetrator.
As the situation unfolded rapidly, the Minnesota State Patrol helicopter which had been dispatched to aid in the search was rerouted and canceled upon the suspect's detention. An employee at the Dollar Tree who encountered the suspect sustained minor injuries during the robbery, injuries that, fortunately, did not necessitate medical treatment according to officials.
