
A man lost his life in Tacoma on Monday night following a shooting that occurred near the Emerald Queen Casino just off I-5. The Tacoma Police Department received calls about a shooting incident happening at the 2000 block of East 28th Street, with authorities arriving on the scene just before 8 p.m., as reported by The News Tribune.
Upon their arrival, Tacoma officers found the man suffering from gunshot wounds. Efforts to save the man were immediately undertaken by both the police and the Tacoma Fire Department, yet, the victim died from his injuries before he could be transported to the hospital. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
Investigations into the shooting, which is now being handled as a homicide case, include assistance from the Washington State Patrol and the Puyallup Tribal Police, detailed by KIRO 7. The location of the crime scene is close to the SR 167 ramp.
