A teenage boy is fighting for his life following a stabbing incident in Penn Hills, confirmed the Allegheny County Police. The violent event unfolded on the 1100 block of Hamil Road as reported by authorities around 4:41 p.m. Tuesday. According to WTAE, emergency responders rushed the critically wounded youth to a nearby hospital, where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
Shortly after the incident, driving away from the scene, the alleged assailant was involved in a vehicle crash that fortunately resulted in no injuries, police said. Lucas Proden, an 18-year-old local from Penn Hills, didn't manage to evade capture for long and now faces a slew of charges including attempted homicide. Proden's list of charges also spans aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person as reported by WTAE.
