A young life was cut short in a shooting that took place at an apartment complex located at 4001 Corder Street around 1:25 p.m. last Friday, according to Houston police. The incident left a 16-year-old male dead and another male, aged 19, injured. HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Clark and N. Nicotra are currently investigating the circumstances leading up to the tragedy.
Upon their arrival at the scene, HPD patrol officers discovered an unresponsive juvenile male with gunshot wounds. The Houston Fire Department paramedics were called and soon pronounced the teenager deceased. In a simultaneous yet separate unfolding, it was learned a second male had also been shot. He was soon after transported to an area hospital by HFD paramedics and is reportedly in stable condition. The identity of the deceased has not been released, pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
As of now, the Houston police have not identified a motive or any suspect(s) in connection with the shooting. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are calling on the community for help. "At this time, there is no known motive or suspect(s)," the Houston Police Department stated in a release early this morning.
