The San Jose Police Department (SJPD) has made significant headway in the investigation of the city's 15th homicide of the year, a fatal shooting incident that claimed the life of an adult male at an apartment complex on Blossom River Way back in May. According to the San Jose Police Department, three suspects, Nuuvali Lafo, Isaac Noa, and Jason Vaavaai, have been arrested and booked for murder following the event that occurred on May 26.
On that unfortunate day, officers responded to a distress call at approximately 2:45 PM encountering a dire scene, the victim was found unresponsive, suffering from gunshot wounds, attempts to save him failed and he was pronounced dead; this was disclosed in earlier reporting by Hoodline South Bay. The initial report also mentioned that the suspect, or suspects, fled before law enforcement's arrival, and the motive at the time was unclear. The identity of the victim has been withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.
Detectives of the SJPD Homicide Unit, diligently working the case, managed to identify Lafo, Noa, and Vaavaai as primary suspects. On Tuesday, SJPD's specialized units captured the suspects in two cities. Lafo was taken into custody in San Jose, and the other two were arrested in Los Banos. All three individuals now face murder charges and are currently held in Santa Clara County Main Jail. The police have yet to announce a motive for the crime as the investigation continues to unfold.
