Three individuals sustained injuries in a late-night shooting in Canonsburg, and law enforcement is now actively pursuing leads to identify the perpetrator. The incident, which sent three people to the hospital with non-life-threatening wounds, occurred just before the clock struck midnight on Thursday along Blaine Avenue, according to WPXI.
Local law enforcement responded to reports of gunfire and soon discovered the victims. They were promptly taken to a medical facility, as stated in a separate report from CBS News. Additionally, shell casings were observed at the scene alongside an SUV exhibiting significant damage from the gunfire.
These recent events come on the heels of two prior incidents earlier in the week involving gunshots in the same borough, raising speculation about potential connections among these acts of violence. Canonsburg Police Chief Alexander Coghill has hinted at this possibility, stating "Naturally we're in the early stages of the investigation, and we believe it's too coincidental. We believe they're obviously tied together", as reported by WTAE.
As of early Friday morning, detectives from Washington County are collaborating tightly to help catch up with the investigation. However, no arrests have been made at this time. Canonsburg authorities are urging anyone with information about the shootings to step forward and contact the police directly.
